1.     Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

This cult classic beauty product gives fine hair the body and hold that it needs thru a long day of shooting. I lift up sections, spray the base of the hair, and massage in with my fingers for a voluminous and bouncy effect. This also doubles as a gritty dry shampoo to refresh second day styles. $46

2.     Kevin Murphy Shimmer Shine

This is hands down the most amazing product I’ve ever used, it never leaves my side! Shimmer Shine is an ultra-light-weight shine mist with reflective particles that is also a leave in treatment to repair brittle ends without looking too heavy. Once I’ve finished a style, a few spritzes of this over everything gives the hair amazing, camera-ready radiance and an extra boost of moisture after heat styling. Bonus tip too, if applied to wet hair, it smooths frizz and speeds up blow dry time! $29

3.     Ouai Matte Pomade

I think sometimes paste-like products tend to scare people away, but they are so versatile for all lengths and textures of hair. Shorter cuts, like pixies and bobs, can use a fingernail full of this, warm up between your palms until it disappears, and use it to piece out and texturize beachy waves and choppy layers. I love this for curly and long hair too, to define fringe or add subtle separation on the ends of curls. Hint: this is a great product to smooth little flyaways on your part! $24

4.     ColorProof Iron Master Setting Spray

Iron Master is a must for anyone who has a hard time getting their styles to stay. I love to spray this in dry hair before I curl or flat iron. I let each section cool and it feels a little tough and crunchy at first, but after breaking the product up with your fingers or a brush, you get a perfect style that will hold all day, even thru heat, humidity, static, and wind. This is my go-to for prepping prom updos too! $32

5.     Kristen Ess Soft Beach Wave Spray

This is your ticket to lived-in beachy waves! This spray is my newest favorite for modern, shaggy texture and separation. I like to flip hair upside down and quickly spritz this thru the ends of the hair. Shake around, flip back over and be amazed! It pairs best with soft flat iron curls, but works great on naturally wavy hair too. This is a great everyday spray to add a little hold and shine without making the hair feel too full of product.  $14

6.     Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray

Okay I lied, there is no way I can narrow this list down to just 5. I had to include this because it is the best hairspray I’ve ever used. It is soft to the touch, but holds firmly. The formula sprays out dry, but has an amazing lustrous finish that is still soft to the touch. And lastly it smells so subtle and fresh, not chemical-y and strong like other hairsprays. I actually carry this in my back pocket on shoot days because it is a life saver. It also comes in 3 formulas, medium, strong, and extra strong, so you can choose the level of hold you like for daily use. $24
